Browse the shopShares most of its DNA with the v1 — with one distinctive feature that sets it apart: a blade shorter by just one inch.
Previous version: Ventari v1

This modest adjustment makes an already exceptionally dexterous knife into an incredibly versatile, lightweight tool, renowned for all-around performance and toughness.
The Ventari v2 is an object lesson in how much one inch matters. It shares almost all of its DNA with the v1 — the same hybrid of Cael dexterity and Garron strength — with the blade brought back to 100mm.
That modest adjustment turns an already dexterous knife into an incredibly versatile, lightweight tool. The shorter blade quickens the tip, drops the carried weight, and makes the knife disappear on the belt — while keeping the toughness and all-around performance the Ventari name was built on. Nothing else about the knife changed, because nothing else needed to.
At 100mm the v2 sits in the sweet spot for the majority of British deer work — full control inside the carcass, no wasted steel beyond the tip’s reach, and a knife light enough that you genuinely forget it until it is needed. It has become a favourite with stalkers who cover real distance in a day and count every carried ounce.
Owners who process smaller and mid-sized deer, or who simply prefer a knife that works close, land here. Those who want the reach keep to the v1. There is no wrong answer — only the ground you shoot over.
No Ventari is pulled from a shelf. At commission you choose the steel — stainless RWL-34, PMC27 or AEB-L, carbon O1, or our in-house stainless Damascus, pattern-welded in Petworth from RWL-34 and PMC27 in patterns from Ladder to Odin’s Eye. Each has its own character; we will talk you through what suits the work you have in mind.
The handle is shaped to the blade from your choice of materials — stabilised woods and burls to fossilised mammoth ivory — and finished with standard or mosaic pins. Engraving is done in-house: initials, crests, and species studies fine enough to count the hairs.
We make every sheath here, moulded precisely to the individual knife. Most Ventaris go out in leather — black, brown, or a colour of your choosing, with hand-tooling and engraved silver panels available for presentation pieces — though Kydex on our hybrid leather system is the right answer for hard, wet use.
A Ventari is built to outlast its first owner. Every knife carries a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, is numbered and recorded in the workshop ledger before it leaves the bench, and ships sharpened, papered, signed-for and insured. When one comes back years later for a fresh edge, we can look up exactly when it left and what it was made of.
If this is the pattern, the next step is a conversation — or set out the rest of it first in the design tool, and send us the draft.
Sharpened, papered and ready to send from Petworth. Sold pieces stay listed for reference.
Earlier Ventaris, numbered and recorded. Each has its own page in the archive.
Every commission starts from the Ventari blueprint. Set the steel, handle material, engraving and sheath in the design tool, and we’ll come back with a quote.
