Workshop Weekly
Eight short films made at the bench in 2021, each a week’s work in the workshop as it happened. The full build is in the making-of film. They are kept here, and on YouTube.
Episode 8
Prep for the Royal Berkshire and Game Fair shows. Marlin rifle import marks, photoreal laser engraving (including a Spud-the-dog tribute), letter-cutter Jeremy joining upstairs, and Nick’s bandsaw run-in with a mammoth molar.
Episode 7
A packed bench: strop kit assembly, an Aquila in scandi grind, hybrid leather sheaths, axe restorations, scissor sharpening, gun engraving, pens, and a Spartan-branded batch.
Episode 6
Filmed partly out in the countryside. Laser engraving for the Gherkin building reception, another Ray Mears bushcraft batch, and news on the workshop expansion.
Episode 5
The format shift to fortnightly Updates is announced. Hand-sanding bushcraft blades, Kydex sheath work, and a “Meant To Be” engraving commission.
Episode 4
Hand-sanding, edge-angle grind setup, the laser maker’s mark being applied, a damascus folder mid-build, and MIG welding on the workshop frame.
Episode 3
Mosaic pin detail — Celtic knot and kettlebell patterns — the paint-the-blade-blue grinding trick, a Spartan-branded batch, and the DRO upgrade going onto the mill.
Episode 2
Bevel work and micro-bevel sharpening, opal-resin handles taking shape, leatherwork in progress, and a gun barrel under the laser. Workshop dog cameo.
Episode 1
Series opener. A custom batch on the bench, mammoth-ivory damascus etching, and a Ray Mears bushcraft knife getting re-handled.
The workshop is open by appointment.
